Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Remote Public Works Customer Support Representative to join our growing team. In this 100% remote role, you will be the primary point of contact for citizens, providing essential support and information related to public works services. You will handle inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive experience for every interaction. This position requires strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively from a home office environment. Full training will be provided to ensure your success in understanding various municipal services and public works protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound calls, emails, and chat inquiries regarding public works services (e.g., waste management, water services, road maintenance, park facilities, permitting).
  • Provide accurate and timely information on city programs, policies, and service disruptions.
  • Log and track all customer interactions and resolutions in the CRM system.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to appropriate departments or senior staff.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfactory resolution of inquiries.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all company and client-specific service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • High-speed internet connection and a quiet, dedicated home workspace.
  • Empathy and a customer-focused mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience, especially in a call center or remote environment.
  • Familiarity with municipal government services or public works operations.
  • Experience using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk).
  • Fluency in French or other languages common in Canada is an asset.
