Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in and successfully complete our paid CDL/HGV licensing program.
• Learn and adhere to all Republic Services safety standards and operational procedures.
• Shadow experienced drivers to understand daily routes, collection methods, and customer service expectations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles (under supervision initially).
• Safely operate a sanitation truck on designated routes to collect waste and recycling materials upon obtaining CDL/HGV.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Provide excellent service to the community.

Required Skills

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess a valid standard driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.
• Excellent attendance and reliability.
• Ability to perform physical duties associated with the role (e.g., lifting, bending, climbing).
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous experience in roles requiring physical labor or outdoor work.
• Familiarity with the Flagstaff, Arizona area roads.
