Job Description

Public Storage is seeking a friendly and reliable Self-Storage Facility Relief Manager to join our team in Lansing, MI. This easy retail position focuses primarily on weekend coverage, managing the daily operations of our facility, assisting customers with their storage needs, and ensuring a clean and secure environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the self-storage facility during weekend shifts.
- Assist customers with renting storage units, understanding lease agreements, and processing payments.
- Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Conduct daily property walkthroughs, ensuring the facility is clean, secure, and well-maintained.
- Perform light maintenance duties, such as sweeping units and grounds, and emptying trash.
- Execute basic sales and marketing initiatives to attract and retain tenants.
- Process paperwork accurately and maintain tenant records.
- Handle cash and prepare bank deposits.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., email, word processing, data entry).
- Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual, especially for weekend scheduling.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and walk the facility grounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or hospitality.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with basic sales techniques.
