Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team in St. Albert, Alberta. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, person-centered care, ensuring the comfort, dignity, and well-being of our residents. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive personal care to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Administer medications as per established protocols and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor residents' health status, report changes to the nursing team, and document observations.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring residents receive adequate nutrition and hydration.
- Engage residents in social activities, promote independence, and foster a positive living environment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living space for residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Adhere to all Revera policies, procedures, and relevant healthcare regulations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Care Assistant or similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to provide personal care and support to seniors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for elder care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Eligibility for Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Caregiver certificate or diploma from an accredited institution.
- Experience in a long-term care or retirement home setting.
- Knowledge of common senior health conditions and dementia care.
- Proficiency in a second language relevant to the local community.
