Job Description
We are currently seeking a proactive and vigilant SIA Security Officer to join our team in Peterborough. As an SIA Security Officer, you will be responsible for protecting property, assets, and personnel, ensuring a safe and secure environment. You will play a crucial role in preventing and detecting unauthorized activity, responding to incidents, and maintaining detailed records. This role requires an individual with excellent observational skills, a calm demeanor, and a strong commitment to upholding security protocols. Full training on site-specific procedures will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of premises, both internal and external, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion.
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, responding promptly and appropriately to alerts.
- Control access and egress points, verifying credentials, and maintaining visitor logs.
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances in accordance with established procedures.
- Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs accurately and on time.
- Liaise with emergency services, clients, and colleagues as required.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide a visible security presence and act as a deterrent to criminal activity.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding license
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A good understanding of basic security procedures and protocols
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a security role (e.g., 6 months)
- First Aid qualification
- CCTV Public Space Surveillance (PSS) license
- Full UK driving license
