Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team in Coeur d’Alene. This role is open for international sponsorship, providing an excellent opportunity for skilled individuals globally to contribute to critical infrastructure and operations. As an SRE, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our production systems and services. You will apply software engineering principles to operations, focusing on automation, monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain tools and automation for operational tasks.
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to critical incidents and ensure system uptime.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline software deployments.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure new features are designed with reliability and scalability in mind.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventative measures.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Ensure security best practices are integrated into all aspects of system design and operation.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Solid understanding of SRE principles and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
