Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Spanish Teacher to join our esteemed faculty at Digbeth Language Academy. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about teaching the Spanish language and culture to a diverse group of students, ranging from beginners to advanced learners. You will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, delivering high-quality instruction, and fostering a positive and interactive classroom environment. This role requires a dedicated educator who can inspire students to achieve fluency and a deep appreciation for the Spanish-speaking world. You will work closely with our academic team to develop curriculum and extracurricular activities, contributing to our academy’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and instructional materials for Spanish language courses.
- Deliver high-quality, interactive, and culturally rich Spanish lessons to students of varying proficiency levels.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of achievement.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages active participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to departmental goals.
- Organize and participate in cultural events and extracurricular activities to enhance student learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding student performance and progress.
- Stay updated on current teaching methodologies and educational technologies in language instruction.
Required Skills
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English.
- Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field.
- Proven ability to teach Spanish effectively to diverse age groups and proficiency levels.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Spanish culture, history, and current events.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Spanish Language, Linguistics, or Education.
- Teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment design.
- Familiarity with various language teaching methodologies (e.g., communicative approach, task-based learning).
- Prior experience teaching Spanish in an academy or language school setting.
