Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Specialty Baker to join our team in Saint John, New Brunswick. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced baker looking to bring their unique skills and creativity to a dynamic retail environment. We are proud to support international talent, and this position is eligible for LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) and Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship for qualified candidates. You will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of specialty baked goods, ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a diverse range of specialty breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Develop new and innovative recipes to expand our product offerings and seasonal selections.
- Decorate cakes and pastries with precision and artistic flair.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary baking area, adhering to all food safety regulations.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with the bakery team to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of products.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting with product inquiries and special orders.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a baker, with a focus on specialty items.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
- Creativity and artistic talent for decorating and product development.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree or diploma in baking and pastry arts.
- Experience working in a high-volume bakery or retail food service setting.
- Certification in food handling and safety.
- Fluency in English (additional languages an asset).
