Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Specialty Baker to join our dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced baker looking to bring their expertise to a vibrant culinary setting. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide variety of specialty breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to Valley Delights Patisserie's high standards and recipes.
- Develop and experiment with new recipes and concepts to expand our product offerings, focusing on seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques.
- Ensure consistent quality, flavor, and presentation of all baked items.
- Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, ensuring proper storage and minimizing waste.
- Operate and maintain all baking equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
- Collaborate with the head baker and kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely production.
- Potentially assist in the training and mentoring of junior baking staff.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years (36 months) of proven experience as a baker, preferably in a specialty or artisan bakery setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in various baking methods, including yeasted doughs, laminated doughs, cakes, and patisserie.
- Strong understanding of ingredient functions and ability to adapt recipes as needed.
- Exceptional attention to detail, precision, and consistency in production.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen hygiene.
- Creative mindset with a passion for innovation in baking.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal culinary or pastry arts education from an accredited institution.
- Experience with international baking techniques and flavor profiles.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a bakery.
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus, though not required.
- Certifications in food safety (e.g., ServSafe) are highly regarded.
