Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sponsorship Assistant to join our External Relations and Partnerships team. This role is crucial in supporting the university’s efforts to secure and manage sponsorships for various academic, research, and community engagement projects and events. The Sponsorship Assistant will play a key role in administrative tasks, research, communication, and event coordination, contributing to the successful execution of our strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in researching potential sponsors and partners for university events and projects.
  • Support the preparation of sponsorship proposals, presentations, and reports.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive database of current and prospective sponsors and their engagement history.
  • Coordinate communication with sponsors, ensuring timely follow-ups and acknowledgment.
  • Provide administrative support for sponsorship-related meetings, including scheduling and minute-taking.
  • Assist with logistical arrangements for sponsored events, including venue booking, material preparation, and on-site support.
  • Monitor and report on the fulfillment of sponsorship agreements and benefits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, events, academic departments) to ensure seamless execution of sponsored activities.
  • Handle general inquiries related to sponsorships and partnerships.

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to conduct thorough research and synthesize information.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within a university, charity, or events environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems or database management.
  • Understanding of sponsorship principles or fundraising techniques.
