Job Description
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Telecommunications Splicers/Linemen to join our growing team in St Marys, NSW. This is an exceptional opportunity for experienced professionals looking to build a career in Australia, with full visa sponsorship provided for eligible candidates. You will be instrumental in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fibre optic and copper cable networks, ensuring reliable telecommunications services across various projects. Full training on specific company procedures and local standards will be provided to successful applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fibre optic cables.
- Install, maintain, and repair copper and fibre telecommunications cabling, including overhead and underground infrastructure.
- Conduct testing and fault diagnosis on telecommunications networks using specialized equipment (e.g., OTDR, power meters).
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, industry standards, and company policies.
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating progress and issues to supervisors.
- Complete necessary documentation for work performed, including test results and installation reports.
- Operate various equipment and tools safely and efficiently, including bucket trucks and trenching equipment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in fibre optic splicing and copper jointing.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications network infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices for working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, climb poles, and lift equipment.
- Commitment to high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification in Telecommunications or Electrical.
- Experience with NBN (National Broadband Network) projects.
- ACMA Open Cabler Registration (or ability to obtain upon arrival).
- White Card (Construction Induction Card).
- Heavy Vehicle (HR/HC) license.
- Confined Space and Working at Heights certifications.
