Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all phases of a rigorous training program covering border security, customs procedures, and immigration laws.
- Learn to interview and question travelers and commercial operators to determine admissibility of persons and goods.
- Develop skills in inspecting baggage, cargo, and conveyances for prohibited or restricted items.
- Assist senior officers with the identification and interdiction of illegal activities, including smuggling and prohibited entries.
- Adhere strictly to all departmental policies, procedures, and legal frameworks.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct at all times.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with members of the public and colleagues.
Required Skills
- No prior experience required; full training provided.
- Canadian citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including standing for extended periods and lifting.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Criminology, Law Enforcement, International Relations).
- Fluency in a second language, particularly French.
- Previous experience in a customer service or security-focused role.
- Demonstrated interest in public service and national security.
