Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and diligent School Kitchen Dishwasher to join our food services team in Mississauga. This part-time position is specifically for term time only, with daytime hours, perfect for individuals looking for work that aligns with the school calendar. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of all kitchen utensils, dishes, and work areas, contributing to a safe and efficient meal service for students and staff. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen work areas, including floors, counters, and sinks.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as required.
  • Properly dispose of waste and recycling materials.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Support the kitchen team in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the kitchen supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment (even informal).
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Valid Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain one upon hire).
