Job Description

As a Trainee HGV / CDL Driver, you will undergo comprehensive instruction, both classroom and behind-the-wheel, to prepare you for a successful career on the road. Upon successful completion of your training and obtaining your CDL, you will transition into a full-time driver role with a competitive salary and robust benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in all phases of the sponsored CDL training program.
- Learn and apply all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety protocols.
- Develop proficiency in pre-trip and post-trip inspections, vehicle maintenance basics, and load securement.
- Practice safe and defensive driving techniques under the guidance of certified instructors.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws.
- Maintain accurate records and logs as required by regulations (post-certification).
- Communicate effectively with instructors, dispatch, and fellow team members.
Required Skills
- Must possess a valid standard driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.
- Must be at least 21 years of age (for interstate commerce CDL).
- A strong commitment to safety and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in a physically demanding role or a role requiring strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable with flexible work schedules.
