Job Description
Are you seeking a dynamic career opportunity that offers comprehensive training, a company vehicle, and a clear path for advancement? Orkin is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Trainee Pest Control Technician to join our team in the Gary, Indiana area. This is an entry-level position where no prior pest control experience is required. We provide all the tools and knowledge you’ll need to succeed, including extensive paid training and your own company vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete and pass all required training programs to become a certified Pest Control Technician.
- Learn to identify various pests and develop effective treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify pest issues.
- Apply pest control treatments in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns and educating them on pest prevention.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked company vehicle and equipment.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and daily service reports.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.
Required Skills
- No prior experience required – full training provided!
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record (essential for operating company vehicle).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily route.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments (attics, crawl spaces, basements).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Eagerness to learn and commitment to professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
