Job Description
We are seeking diligent and reliable individuals to join our team as Transit Train Cleaners for the Night Shift. This is a secure, full-time position critical to maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of our transit trains, ensuring a safe and pleasant experience for our passengers. Full training will be provided to all new hires, making this an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals seeking stable employment in a vital public service role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of train interiors, including floors, seats, windows, and surfaces.
- Sanitize high-touch areas such as handrails, door handles, and grab bars.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum all floor surfaces.
- Clean and restock restrooms within the train car.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards observed during cleaning.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines for chemical handling and waste disposal.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete cleaning tasks within designated timeframes.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistent night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring standing, bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and repetitive motions.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Adherence to safety procedures and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with various cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
