Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Treasury Assistant to join our team in Mount Isa. This role is crucial for supporting our treasury operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, and contributing to the overall financial health of the bank. The successful candidate will work closely with senior treasury professionals, gaining valuable experience in financial markets, risk management, and liquidity analysis. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily cash management and liquidity forecasting activities.
  • Process and reconcile treasury transactions, including foreign exchange, money market, and derivatives.
  • Prepare treasury reports and analyses for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor market conditions and identify potential risks or opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of all treasury activities and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and audit processes related to treasury.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including finance, risk, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of treasury functions.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Solid understanding of basic financial concepts and principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (2+ years) in a treasury, finance, or banking role.
  • Knowledge of treasury management systems (e.g., SAP, Bloomberg, Reuters).
  • Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
