You will be responsible for handling emergency calls, assessing situations, providing pre-arrival instructions, and dispatching ambulance resources efficiently and effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming Triple Zero (000) emergency calls with professionalism and empathy.
  • Gather crucial information from callers quickly and accurately to assess the nature and urgency of the emergency.
  • Provide clear, concise, and life-saving pre-arrival instructions to callers, including CPR guidance or first aid advice.
  • Prioritise and dispatch appropriate ambulance resources to emergency incidents according to established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of calls, dispatch actions, and incident details in the computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system.
  • Communicate effectively with ambulance crews, other emergency services, and healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor the status of dispatched units and provide ongoing support and information.
  • Remain calm and composed under pressure, even in highly stressful or emotional situations.
  • Adhere to all SAAS policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.

  • Familiarity with the geography of Adelaide and wider South Australia.
  • A current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
