Job Description
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Urban Designer to join our dynamic team in Liverpool City Centre. In this role, you will contribute to a diverse range of projects, from large-scale masterplans to detailed public realm designs, both locally and internationally. You will play a key part in developing innovative and sustainable urban solutions, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to create places that enhance people’s lives and respect the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop urban design concepts, masterplans, and strategies.
- Produce high-quality design drawings, reports, and presentations.
- Conduct site analysis, research, and policy reviews to inform design solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, landscape architects, engineers, and other specialists.
- Present design proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Contribute to public consultation processes and workshops.
- Assist in the preparation of fee proposals and project bids.
- Stay abreast of current urban design trends, best practices, and innovative technologies.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in urban design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), and SketchUp.
- Strong graphic communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of sustainable urban development principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS).
- Familiarity with Rhino and other 3D modelling software.
- Membership in a relevant professional institution (e.g., RTPI, LI, RIBA).
- Experience working on international projects.
- Knowledge of UK planning policy and urban design guidance.
