Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Urban Planner / Town Planner to join our dynamic team in Southgate, London. This is a unique opportunity for a talented professional to contribute to diverse and impactful projects, from large-scale residential developments to public realm enhancements. The role involves working closely with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities to deliver high-quality planning outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site appraisals, feasibility studies, and prepare planning applications.
- Liaise with clients, local planning authorities, and statutory consultees.
- Prepare detailed planning reports, statements, and design and access statements.
- Contribute to master planning and urban design projects.
- Stay abreast of changes in planning legislation and policy.
- Undertake public consultations and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables effectively.
Required Skills
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in urban planning within the UK or a comparable planning system.
- Strong understanding of UK planning policy and legislation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in GIS and CAD software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership or eligibility for membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
- Experience with a diverse range of planning projects (e.g., residential, commercial, regeneration).
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
- Experience with public inquiry work or appeals.
