Job Description

Join the dedicated team at Riverland Harvest Co. as a Part-time Vegetable Harvester. This vital role involves the careful harvesting and initial processing of a variety of vegetables in our fields located near Murray Bridge. You will be an integral part of our day roster, contributing to the efficient and quality-focused collection of our seasonal produce. This is a hands-on, physically active role, suitable for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and contributing to a team. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience in harvesting is necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manually harvest various types of vegetables according to specific quality and quantity guidelines.
  • Carefully sort and pack harvested produce directly in the field.
  • Operate basic harvesting tools and equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area within the fields.
  • Adhere strictly to all farm safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily harvesting targets.
  • Report any issues with crop quality or equipment to the team leader.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform sustained physical activity, including bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
  • Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure produce quality.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (e.g., sun, wind, light rain).
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in agricultural work, even if informal, is a bonus but not required.
  • Current First Aid certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal transport.
