Job Description
Are you an enthusiastic animal lover looking to start your career in veterinary care? Vets4Pets Rotherham is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join our team on a weekend roster. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity perfect for individuals with a genuine passion for animal welfare, even if you have no prior professional experience. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our animal patients, ensuring their well-being during their stay with us. Full training will be provided to help you excel in this rewarding position.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and patient rooms regularly.
- Feed, water, and exercise animals according to specific instructions and schedules.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any changes or concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary nurses with animal restraint during examinations and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kennel areas, treatment rooms, and common spaces.
- Provide comfort and attention to recovering and boarding animals.
- Perform laundry duties, including washing and folding bedding and towels.
- Replenish supplies and ensure all equipment is clean and ready for use.
- Support the veterinary team with general clinic upkeep and duties as needed.
