Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Water Damage Restoration Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a dynamic, hands-on role requiring physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to respond to emergencies on an on-call basis, including nights and weekends. Full training will be provided to the right candidate, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in the restoration industry. You will assist our lead technicians in all phases of water damage mitigation and restoration projects, ensuring properties are returned to their pre-damage condition efficiently and safely. Overtime opportunities are frequently available.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead technicians in the assessment and mitigation of water damage.
- Perform water extraction using specialized equipment.
- Set up and monitor drying equipment, including dehumidifiers and air movers.
- Remove damaged materials such as drywall, flooring, and insulation.
- Clean and sanitize affected areas to prevent mold growth.
- Document job progress, take photos, and maintain accurate records.
- Safely load, unload, and transport equipment and materials to job sites.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional communication.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency response.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, emergency-driven environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts, nights, and weekends.
- Basic computer literacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field.
- IICRC certification (e.g., WRT – Water Damage Restoration Technician) is a plus but not required.
- Experience operating hand and power tools.
