Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and exceptionally fast WFH Transcriptionist with a focus on legal documentation to join our remote team. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a comprehensive understanding of legal terminology, and the ability to accurately transcribe a variety of legal audio recordings and documents. As a crucial part of our support services, you will ensure that all transcribed materials adhere to the highest standards of quality and confidentiality, contributing directly to the efficiency and precision of legal operations for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe diverse legal audio recordings, including court proceedings, depositions, client interviews, and dictations.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents to ensure impeccable grammar, punctuation, spelling, and adherence to specific legal formatting guidelines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security protocols for all sensitive legal information.
- Manage transcription workload efficiently to meet established deadlines and turnaround times.
- Utilize specialized transcription software and tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members and legal professionals as needed to clarify information and ensure contextual accuracy.
Required Skills
- Proven high-speed typing proficiency (minimum 70 WPM) with excellent accuracy.
- Extensive knowledge of Australian legal terminology, procedures, and documentation formats.
- Exceptional command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to discern multiple speakers and accents.
- Proficiency with transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, FTR Player) and standard office applications.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a secure, quiet home office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certificate in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- Prior experience working as a legal secretary, paralegal, or legal administrative assistant.
- Experience with case management systems or legal research platforms.
