Job Description
Are you eager to launch a career in the marine tourism industry with a focus on diving and customer service? Coastal Dive Adventures is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Dive Boat Assistant to join our team in Fremantle. This is an entry-level position where your passion for the ocean and willingness to learn are more important than prior experience. We provide comprehensive training to equip you with all the necessary skills to excel in this exciting role, ensuring our guests have safe and memorable adventures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist divers and snorkelers with equipment preparation, entry, and exit from the water.
- Perform essential deckhand duties, including mooring, anchoring, and general boat operations under supervision.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers throughout dive and snorkel tours.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the dive vessel and all diving equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering guest questions, and fostering a friendly atmosphere.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of dive gear, supplies, and provisions.
- Actively participate in safety briefings and emergency procedure drills.
- Support the Dive Master and Boat Captain with various tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Strong swimming ability and comfort in ocean environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong willingness to learn.
- Physical fitness, including the ability to lift moderate weights (e.g., dive tanks) and perform deck duties.
- Legal eligibility to work in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
- Any recreational boating or water sports experience.
- A keen interest in marine biology or conservation.
