Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Textile Technologist to join our dynamic team in Kitchener. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for textile science, material innovation, and process optimization. The Textile Technologist will be responsible for researching, developing, and testing new textile materials and processes, ensuring quality control, and providing technical support for manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development on new textile materials, fibers, and fabrics for various industrial applications.
- Perform rigorous testing and analysis on textile properties, including strength, durability, colorfastness, and environmental resistance.
- Develop and optimize textile manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures for textile production, identifying and resolving material-related issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to integrate textile solutions into automation projects.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and documentation for textile materials and processes.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements in textile science and manufacturing.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on textile-related matters.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in textile research, development, or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in textile testing methods and equipment.
- Strong understanding of textile fibers, yarns, fabrics, and finishing processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
