Job Description
Join our dynamic team in Basildon as a Seafood Prep / Fishmonger Assistant. This role is perfect for early risers who are passionate about fresh produce and customer service. You will be instrumental in ensuring our seafood counter is stocked with high-quality, beautifully prepared products. Full training will be provided to help you master the art of fish preparation, counter presentation, and customer interaction. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of various fish and seafood products.
- Ensure the fish counter is clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing at all times.
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable service to customers, offering advice on products and cooking methods.
- Handle and store seafood according to strict food safety and hygiene standards.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve daily targets and maintain high standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to work early morning shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail, food preparation, or customer service role.
- Basic knowledge of fish and seafood varieties (training will be provided).
