Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Scaffolding Supervisor to lead our teams on various projects within the Sechelt area and broader British Columbia region. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient execution of scaffolding operations, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations, project specifications, and company standards. This vital role requires strong leadership skills, extensive technical knowledge of scaffolding systems, and a commitment to operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of scaffolding crews on-site.
- Ensure all scaffolding erection, alteration, and dismantling operations comply with company safety policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and identify potential hazards.
- Read and interpret scaffolding designs, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Train and mentor junior scaffolders, promoting best practices and skill development.
- Manage equipment and material inventories, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and other contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Prepare daily reports, safety documentation, and conduct toolbox talks.
- Implement corrective actions as needed to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
- Participate in incident investigations and implement preventative measures.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in scaffolding erection and dismantling, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of various scaffolding systems (e.g., tube and coupler, system scaffold, frame scaffold).
- Strong understanding of Canadian safety regulations and standards related to scaffolding (e.g., CSA Z797, provincial OH&S).
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Scaffolding Supervisor certification (e.g., from an accredited trade school or industry body).
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Fall Protection certification.
- Experience with project management software.
- Fluency in additional languages.
