Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our growing team in Sherbrooke, Quebec. This pivotal role involves overseeing all phases of complex construction projects, from planning and initiation to execution, monitoring, control, and closure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, a proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, and a meticulous approach to budgeting, scheduling, and quality control. This position includes a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for eligible international candidates and a comprehensive relocation package to support your move to Sherbrooke, Quebec.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, objectives, schedules, resource allocation, and budget management.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement proactive solutions to mitigate issues.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFI's, submittals, and progress reports.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess work progress and quality, ensuring alignment with project plans.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including contractor selection and material acquisition.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment for project teams and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present regular project updates to senior management and clients.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification.
  • Proficiency in French (written and spoken) is a significant asset.
  • Experience working on projects in the Canadian market.
