Job Description
Join our dynamic team at GFS Canada as a Seafood Processing Worker! This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking stable, full-time employment in a vital industry. We are looking for dedicated team members to assist in the processing and packaging of various seafood products within a cold, wet production environment. No prior experience in seafood processing is required; we provide comprehensive training to ensure your success. This role demands attention to detail, adherence to strict health and safety protocols, and a willingness to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Weekly pay ensures a consistent income for your hard work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various tasks related to seafood processing, including sorting, filleting, trimming, and packaging.
- Operate basic processing equipment safely and efficiently after receiving training.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular washing down of equipment and surfaces.
- Inspect product for quality and consistency, reporting any issues to supervision.
- Load and unload materials and finished products as required.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cold and wet environment for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic understanding of English for safety instructions and team communication.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food production, warehouse, or manufacturing environment (not required, but a plus).
- Familiarity with HACCP or other food safety systems.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends or evenings if required.
