Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Software Engineering Manager to lead and inspire our talented engineering teams. This role is pivotal in driving the technical direction, ensuring high-quality software delivery, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. The successful candidate will be offered a full executive relocation package to establish their residence in Montreal, Quebec, working on-site to collaborate directly with our dynamic teams and immerse themselves in our innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of complex software systems and features for our gaming titles.
- Drive technical strategy and roadmap planning in alignment with product and business objectives.
- Ensure the adoption of best practices in software engineering, including code quality, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring successful execution and on-time completion.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management, art, design, and QA.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and support the career development of team members.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering processes and tools.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience in managing and growing engineering teams.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python, with experience in large-scale software systems.
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions and drive consensus among team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in the video game industry or entertainment software development.
- Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) or proprietary engines.
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.
