Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Processing Manager to oversee operations at our Glasgow production facility. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of our fresh prepared food products, adhering to strict food safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will lead a team, optimize processes, and contribute significantly to our operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily food processing operations, ensuring production targets are met efficiently and effectively.
- Implement and maintain strict adherence to food safety, quality, and hygiene standards (HACCP, BRC).
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors and operatives.
- Optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage raw material usage, and coordinate with supply chain for timely deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Prepare regular reports on production performance, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with quality assurance, engineering, and product development teams to resolve issues and implement new products/processes.
- Manage operational budget and control costs effectively.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in food manufacturing or processing management.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations (HACCP, BRC) and quality management systems.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in production planning and inventory control.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in a manufacturing setting.
