Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Renewable Energy Engineer to join our dynamic team in Wolverhampton. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design, development, and optimization of renewable energy projects, primarily focusing on solar, wind, and energy storage solutions. You will contribute to every stage of a project’s lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and technical due diligence to system design, implementation support, and performance monitoring. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the UK’s green energy transition and work with cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and site assessments for potential renewable energy projects.
- Design and optimize renewable energy systems, including solar PV, wind turbines, and battery storage solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Perform energy yield assessments and detailed system performance simulations.
- Prepare technical specifications, engineering drawings, and tender documents.
- Provide technical support during the procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of projects.
- Monitor the performance of operational renewable energy assets and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers, environmental consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in renewable energy technologies and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar PV, wind, or energy storage.
- Proficiency in renewable energy system design software (e.g., PVSyst, WindFarm, Homer Pro).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly.
- Understanding of relevant UK and international energy codes, standards, and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Professional certification (e.g., CEng, PRINCE2, specific renewable energy accreditations).
- Experience with grid connection procedures and requirements in the UK.
- Knowledge of energy markets and financial modelling for renewable projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
