Job Description
We are seeking a highly organised and dedicated individual to join our team as an SES Support professional. This ongoing full-time role is crucial in providing administrative and logistical support to the State Emergency Service (SES) operations in Glenorchy. You will play a key role in ensuring our emergency responders have the resources and information they need to protect our community. This position offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic environment where your work directly contributes to public safety and emergency preparedness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to SES unit leadership and volunteers.
- Maintain accurate records, databases, and reporting systems related to incidents, training, and resources.
- Assist with the coordination of training schedules, meetings, and community engagement events.
- Manage incoming communications, including phone calls and emails, directing inquiries appropriately.
- Support logistics for operational deployments, including equipment tracking and inventory management.
- Prepare and distribute relevant documentation, reports, and internal communications.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and organisational policies.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an administrative or support role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within government, emergency services, or a public safety context.
- Knowledge of local Tasmanian geography and community structures.
- Certificates in Business Administration or a related field.
