Job Description

Are you ready to become a ‘Weekend Warrior’ and play a pivotal role in creating memorable events across the beautiful Bundaberg region? We’re seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and customer-focused individuals to join our casual event staffing team. This role offers excellent hourly rates, flexible weekend shifts, and the chance to work at diverse events – from major festivals and concerts to corporate functions and private celebrations. Prior experience is beneficial, but comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist event attendees with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving equipment, arranging seating, and decorating.
  • Serve food and beverages responsibly, adhering to health and safety standards (if applicable, RSA training provided).
  • Monitor event areas to maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
  • Act as a proactive team member, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Follow all company policies, venue regulations, and event specific instructions.
  • Handle cash or operate POS systems as required (training provided).

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, proactive, and genuinely customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced and occasionally demanding environment.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality are paramount.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate objects (up to 10kg).
  • Strong teamwork ethic and ability to follow instructions effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months previous experience in events, hospitality, retail, or customer service.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate (highly regarded, but not essential; training can be provided).
  • Current First Aid certificate.
  • Experience with cash handling or point-of-sale (POS) systems.
