Job Description
We are seeking reliable and physically fit individuals to join our temporary team as Snow Clearers for the upcoming winter season in Bradford. This crucial role involves ensuring safe passage for pedestrians and vehicles by clearing snow and ice from various sites, including pathways, car parks, and public areas. You will be provided with all necessary equipment and training to perform your duties effectively and safely. This is a temporary, on-call position, primarily needed during periods of heavy snowfall and freezing conditions. Flexibility and a readiness to respond quickly are essential to maintain safety and accessibility for our clients and the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually clear snow and ice from designated walkways, entrances, and emergency exits.
- Operate snow shovels, salt spreaders, and other provided equipment safely and efficiently.
- Apply de-icing agents (grit, salt) to prevent ice formation and ensure safe surfaces.
- Inspect areas for hazards and report any issues or additional requirements to supervisors.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Be available on short notice during snowfall events, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, to respond promptly.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous manual labor in cold weather conditions for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic and commitment to timely response.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a small team.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures, always prioritizing personal and public safety.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
