Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Water Quality Intern to join our team in Devonport, Tasmania. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about environmental science, public health, and water management. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in water quality monitoring, analysis, and reporting within a vital government utility. No prior professional experience in water quality is required; we provide comprehensive training and mentorship to help you develop crucial skills and understanding in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine collection of water samples from various sources including reservoirs, treatment plants, and distribution networks.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and analyses on water samples under supervision.
- Accurately record and manage water quality data using established protocols.
- Support the preparation of water quality reports and presentations.
- Learn and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
- Participate in field investigations and site visits to understand operational processes.
- Collaborate with experienced water quality scientists and technicians.
Required Skills

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
