Job Description

Greencross Vets is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our compassionate team in Hervey Bay. This casual position is perfect for individuals who love dogs and are keen to support their welfare and comfort. No prior professional experience is required; we are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a genuine affection for animals. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the role. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our clinic, ensuring our canine guests are happy, healthy, and comfortable during their stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to dogs, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their well-being.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe environment for all animals by regularly cleaning kennels, common areas, and facilities.
- Assist with walking and exercising dogs as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Observe and promptly report any changes in animal behavior, appetite, or health to veterinary staff.
- Support the veterinary team with various tasks as directed, ensuring smooth clinic operations.
- Ensure all animals receive their prescribed medications under the direct supervision of veterinary staff, if applicable.
