Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Remote Business Development Representative to join our dynamic sales team. In this role, you will be crucial in identifying and creating new business opportunities within the tech startup ecosystem. You will be responsible for outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and initiating conversations with potential clients, laying the groundwork for successful partnerships. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within Australia, but with a strong connection to our Byron Bay hub.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct targeted outbound prospecting to identify and qualify new business opportunities within the tech startup sector.
  • Research and understand potential client needs and challenges to tailor initial outreach.
  • Engage prospects through various channels, including email, LinkedIn, and cold calls, to generate interest in Atlassian solutions.
  • Schedule introductory meetings and product demonstrations for Account Executives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and customer interactions in our CRM system.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to refine strategies and improve lead generation.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and Atlassian product updates.

Required Skills

  • 1+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related client-facing role, preferably within SaaS or technology.
  • Proven ability to articulate value propositions and engage prospects effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Self-starter with a proactive and tenacious approach to achieving goals.
  • Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales engagement tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience working with or selling to the startup community.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies or project management principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
