Job Description

As a Business Ethics Coordinator – Finance, you will play a crucial role in upholding ANZ’s commitment to ethical conduct and regulatory compliance within our financial operations. This position involves developing, implementing, and monitoring ethical policies and procedures to ensure all business activities align with our values and legal obligations. You will act as a key resource for employees on ethical dilemmas and contribute to fostering a transparent and accountable workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and review ethics policies and guidelines specifically tailored for financial operations.
  • Conduct regular ethics training and awareness programs for staff, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and document ethical concerns or breaches, providing impartial recommendations for resolution.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant financial industry regulations (e.g., APRA, ASIC) and internal codes of conduct.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to employees and management on complex ethical dilemmas and conflicts of interest.
  • Prepare detailed reports on ethical performance, compliance status, and incident management for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with legal, risk, and compliance departments to ensure an integrated approach to governance and ethics.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and changes in ethical standards and regulatory landscapes.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of ethical principles and their application within the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant Australian financial regulatory frameworks (e.g., APRA, ASIC acts and guidelines).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ethical concepts clearly.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of assessing situations and recommending appropriate actions.
  • High degree of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business Ethics, Risk Management, or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Ethics Professional (CCEP) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
  • Prior experience (minimum 2 years) in financial services compliance, risk management, internal audit, or a similar ethics-focused role.
  • A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
