Job Description
Are you eager to start a career in hospitality but lack experience? Clarence River Cafe & Bistro is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Front of House team as an Assistant. This is an incredible opportunity for someone passionate about customer service and keen to learn the ins and outs of a busy cafe and bistro. Full training will be provided, ensuring you gain all the necessary skills to excel in this dynamic role. We value a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service to our valued customers in Grafton.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greeting and seating customers upon arrival
- Taking food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
- Serving meals and drinks to tables with a friendly demeanour
- Preparing coffee and other beverages (training provided)
- Processing payments using our POS system
- Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the dining area and service stations
- Assisting with opening and closing procedures as required
- Adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards
- Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
Required Skills
- A strong passion for customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Reliability and punctuality
- Basic numeracy skills for cash handling
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (not essential, but a bonus)
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Basic food handling knowledge
