Job Description
Are you a empathetic communicator with a keen eye for detail and a desire to help others resolve financial challenges? Concentrix is seeking dedicated Government Debt Recovery Agents to join our team in Gateshead. This is a crucial role focused on recovering outstanding government debts through supportive and compliant communication – absolutely no cold calling involved. You will manage a portfolio of existing cases, engaging with citizens to understand their situations, negotiate manageable payment plans, and provide clear guidance on available options, all while adhering strictly to government guidelines and regulations. Full training will be provided to ensure you have all the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in this rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of government debt accounts, engaging with citizens through inbound and outbound (warm) calls, and written correspondence.
- Conduct empathetic conversations to understand individual circumstances and identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Negotiate and establish sustainable payment plans tailored to each citizen's financial situation.
- Provide clear and accurate information regarding debt obligations, repayment options, and support services.
- Maintain meticulous records of all communications and actions taken within our CRM system.
- Ensure all recovery activities comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and Concentrix's ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve complex cases and escalate issues as necessary.
- Continuously update knowledge on government policies and debt recovery best practices.
Required Skills

- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, CRM systems).

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service, call center, or administrative role.
- Understanding of debt recovery principles or financial services regulations.
- Experience working with vulnerable customers or in a public sector environment.
