Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Online Civic Engagement Assistant to join our dynamic remote team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals passionate about civic participation, social impact, and digital communication. As an Online Civic Engagement Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our online initiatives, helping to manage our digital presence, and facilitating community interaction. You will assist in content creation, moderation of online discussions, data entry, and administrative tasks, all while contributing to our mission of empowering Canadians to engage with their communities and public policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and moderate online discussions and forums to ensure a respectful and productive environment.
  • Assist in drafting and scheduling social media content, newsletters, and website updates.
  • Respond to inquiries from community members and direct complex issues to appropriate team members.
  • Conduct basic research on civic issues, policy updates, and engagement best practices.
  • Maintain and update databases with participant information and engagement metrics.
  • Support the planning and execution of virtual events, webinars, and online campaigns.
  • Collaborate with team members on various projects, offering administrative and technical support as needed.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for improving online engagement strategies.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • A genuine interest in civic engagement, public policy, and community building.

Preferred Qualifications
