Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a State/Provincial Revenue Mail Sorter in our active Houston office. This full-time, on-site role is crucial for the efficient processing of incoming mail, particularly revenue-related documents. The Mail Sorter will be responsible for accurately receiving, opening, sorting, and distributing large volumes of mail. This position requires an individual who is comfortable with a dynamic work environment, capable of standing and moving for extended periods, and committed to maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Full training will be provided to ensure success in this role, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow their career within a major financial institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and process large volumes of incoming physical mail, including packages and revenue documents.
- Open, sort, and distribute mail accurately to appropriate departments or individuals.
- Operate mailroom equipment, such as letter openers and sorters, safely and efficiently.
- Perform basic data entry to track mail and packages as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure mailroom environment.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols when handling sensitive financial and personal information.
- Assist with other administrative duties as needed, supporting overall office operations.
- Identify and escalate any unusual or priority mail items to management promptly.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and tracking.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods (up to 25 lbs).
- Commitment to confidentiality and data security.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an office, mailroom, or administrative support role.
- Experience with high-volume document handling.
