Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and organised Government Office Clerk to join our team in Redcliffe. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday, providing essential administrative support to various departments within the Moreton Bay Regional Council. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth daily operations of our office, handling a variety of tasks from managing correspondence to supporting public enquiries. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong organisational skills and a commitment to public service, looking to contribute to local government operations. Full training will be provided to ensure your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to various council departments.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail and emails.
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, providing professional and courteous assistance to residents and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and format documents, reports, and presentations using standard office software.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings.
  • Order and maintain office supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Support reception duties as required, welcoming visitors and directing them appropriately.
  • Adhere to all council policies, procedures, and relevant government regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
