Job Description
We are seeking a enthusiastic and reliable Part-time Grooming Offsider to join our busy salon in Devonport. This entry-level role is perfect for someone with a genuine love for dogs and a desire to learn the ins and outs of professional pet grooming. As a Grooming Offsider, you will provide essential support to our senior groomers, ensuring the salon runs smoothly and efficiently. Full training will be provided for all tasks, making this an excellent opportunity to start a career in the animal care industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist groomers with bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of various sizes and breeds.
- Prepare grooming stations with necessary tools and supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organised salon environment, including cleaning kennels, grooming tables, and general areas.
- Handle dogs with care, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process.
- Support reception duties such as greeting clients, answering phones, and scheduling appointments when needed.
- Restock supplies and laundry duties.
- Monitor dog behaviour and report any concerns to senior groomers.

- Genuine love for animals, especially dogs.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn new tasks quickly.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Physical stamina to handle and lift dogs, and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
