Job Description
Are you passionate about mechanics and looking for an exciting entry point into a rewarding career? Royal Mail is offering a fantastic Trainee Postal Fleet Mechanic Apprenticeship Opportunity in Leicester. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience and a recognised qualification while being paid. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided by our experienced technicians. You will learn to maintain, service, and repair a diverse range of vehicles, from vans to trucks, that form the backbone of our national delivery network.
Key Responsibilities
- Shadow and assist qualified mechanics in routine maintenance and repairs.
- Learn to perform vehicle inspections and fault diagnosis using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Undertake basic servicing tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake checks.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Actively participate in all training modules and classroom learning.
- Document work carried out accurately and efficiently.
Required Skills
- A strong interest in mechanics and vehicle maintenance.
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills.

- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and Science.

- Full UK driving licence (or working towards one).
