Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Commercial Awning Installer Mate to join our skilled installation team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in construction and specialized installations, working alongside experienced professionals. As an Installer Mate, you will provide crucial support to our lead installers, assisting in the safe and efficient installation of commercial awnings and canopies at various client sites across London. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for individuals with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead installers with the preparation and installation of commercial awnings, canopies, and related structures.
- Safely load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to and from job sites.
- Prepare work areas, ensuring site safety and cleanliness.
- Operate hand and power tools under supervision, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Help with measurement, cutting, and assembly tasks as directed.
- Perform general site duties, including cleaning up debris and waste.
- Adhere to company safety standards and procedures at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients on site.
- Learn and develop skills in awning installation techniques and best practices.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Strong manual dexterity and physical fitness for lifting and carrying.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices (or willingness to learn quickly).
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn a new trade.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a construction or manual labor role is a plus, but not essential.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) is an advantage.
- Full UK driving license is beneficial.
