Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role involves providing expert clinical leadership and advanced nursing practice within a specialized area, ensuring the delivery of outstanding patient care. The successful candidate will act as a resource for patients, families, and healthcare professionals, contributing to education, research, and service development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management for patients within the specialty area.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, ensuring patient-centered outcomes.
  • Act as an expert resource and educator for nursing staff, junior doctors, patients, and their families.
  • Lead and participate in audit, research, and service development initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Facilitate seamless transitions of care across different settings and disciplines.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, offering specialist nursing perspective.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in accordance with professional and Trust standards.

Required Skills

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Extensive post-registration experience, including significant experience in a specialized clinical area
  • Evidence of advanced clinical assessment skills
  • Demonstrable leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to continuous professional development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant clinical specialty or advanced practice
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification
  • Teaching and assessing qualification
  • Experience in audit, research, or service improvement projects
