Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role involves providing expert clinical leadership and advanced nursing practice within a specialized area, ensuring the delivery of outstanding patient care. The successful candidate will act as a resource for patients, families, and healthcare professionals, contributing to education, research, and service development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management for patients within the specialty area.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, ensuring patient-centered outcomes.
- Act as an expert resource and educator for nursing staff, junior doctors, patients, and their families.
- Lead and participate in audit, research, and service development initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Facilitate seamless transitions of care across different settings and disciplines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, offering specialist nursing perspective.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in accordance with professional and Trust standards.
Required Skills
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Extensive post-registration experience, including significant experience in a specialized clinical area
- Evidence of advanced clinical assessment skills
- Demonstrable leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant clinical specialty or advanced practice
- Non-medical prescribing qualification
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Experience in audit, research, or service improvement projects
