Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Department of Defence Inventory Clerk to join our team in Dandenong, Victoria. This civilian role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our supply chain, directly supporting the Australian Department of Defence. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, tracking, and reporting on a wide range of defence-related inventory, ensuring compliance with strict protocols and procedures. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the receipt, storage, and dispatch of defence-related inventory.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Utilize inventory management software to accurately track stock movements.
  • Prepare and process documentation for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Ensure all inventory is stored safely and securely, adhering to defence standards.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers regarding stock levels and orders.
  • Report on inventory status, identifying potential issues or shortages.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in inventory management or a similar logistics role.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Australian driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within a defence or government contracting environment.
  • Certificate III or IV in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Forklift license.
